Our Mission

The Destiny Education Project strives to abolish default white supremacy culture from our education system by engaging schools, educational leaders, and communities through programs, advocacy, and collaboration.

We envision a world where all students can feel safe and learn in an inclusive, supported educational environment.

Some of What We’ve Achieved & What we are Working on

  • Worked with the BUSD to update the CORE curriculum

  • Added our voices to the district’s DEI committees

  • Supported the Black Student Union (BSU) at JBHS

  • Got the JBHS “Indian” mascot sign covered

  • Received Recognition from the CA State Legislature and State Assembly Member Laura Friedman

  • Sponsored Custodian Appreciation activities

  • Piloted and continue to grow our Peer to Peer diverse read aloud program

  • Donated to elementary school libraries to increase diverse literature selections

  • Advocated for increased DEI funding at the state level
